The significance of long hair in Native American Cultures

So pure and sacred are the thoughts of Our Mother, the Earth, that Her hair grows long and fragrant. The Sweet Grasses found growing around the World represent the hair of Our Mother, the Earth. These special grasses have long been collected by the Native Peoples of Earth to use as…READ MORE HERE

Humanity in a simple analogy

I absolutely love this! Came across it a few years ago already and it still rings so true. Wake up world….

Imagine children playing in a sandbox full of toys. A couple of them of them decide that the toys are theirs, and put barriers around them, telling all the other kids that they must earn these little pieces of leaves that will grant them access to the toys. The parents observing the situation would most likely intervene and remind the children to share and be kind to one another.

Now imagine children on a big blue playground featuring an abundance of vegetation, animal life, oceans, lakes and rivers. Although the playground is set up for everyone to play, explore, create and share as equals, some of them decide to play gods and take possession of whatever land or resource they come across. They then make up a brilliant game: A hierarchical system in which they are the supreme authority while others have to abide by their rules if they wish to survive. In this game, resources become accessible only under the condition of money, which is earned only under the condition of work. As this hierarchy becomes pervasive across the entire playground, that which was once sharing, creativity and play becomes work, competition, greed, fear and survival. The people of the playground do not recognize each other as playmates and co-creators of the same human family any longer, but as strangers, competitors and even enemies. There may be no parents watching over the playground, reminding all children of the earth them all to simply share and live in harmony with one another, but there is a growing heartache felt across humanity that is calling for change.

Essay Poetry by Kahlil Gibran from The Prophet

I came across the below, liked it and thought I’d share it here….

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you,
Yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love
But not your thoughts
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies
But not their souls, for their souls dwell in the House of Tomorrow
Which you cannot visit,
Not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
But seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward
Nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children,
As living arrows, are sent forth.

Leonardo DiCaprio donates $15million to environmental causes

Leonardo DiCaprio isn’t just an amazing actor with a pretty face. You don’t often here about him in the tabloids, but when you do it is generally all positive. The actor has long been been a high-profile environmental activist – sometimes drawing criticism for his outspokenness on climate change.

After accepting his Golden globe Award for best actor on January 10th, DiCaprio made teh most of his acceptance speech by highlighting climate change, and also to announce that the DiCaprio Foundation will be donating $15million to environmental causes. $3.4 million will be donated to indigenous groups in the Ecuadorian Amazon

“We simply cannot afford to allow the corporate greed of the coal, oil and gas industries to determine the future of humanity. Those entities with a financial interest in preserving this destructive system have denied, and even covered up the evidence of our changing climate,” he said to an audience of world leaders, business chiefs and campaigners.

In the past, Leonardo has used the DiCaprio Foundation to give grants to Oceans 5, Amazon Watch, World Wildlife Fund, Save the Elephants and California Wolf Center.Other groups receiving cash are less known, including Dark Snow, which measures Arctic melting, Digital Democracy, which helps indigenous cultures use technology to protect the Amazon, renewable energy project Powered By Light and other education and nonprofits. Upside down
Most of life is in reverse,
That’s why we think it’s all a curse.
Most of what we see is upside down,
That’s why we smile with a face of a clown.
Most things are the wrong way round,
Children are the teachers we have found.
Religion preaches we need their temple,
When we are in fact God; our wisdom ample.
Forced to go to school and learn some fact,
Not to use our imagination or how not to react,
That if we do not conform to the dictated regime,
We will be labelled crazy; they will attack our esteem.
Certificates at college are not required,
We need to get our own mission fired.
When we wake we are really asleep,
And when we dream back home we leap!
There is absolutely no such thing as death,
We are beings of light with limitless breath.
We are neither one sexuality nor the other,
In other lives I may have been your child or brother.
The question of discrimination over race, colour or tribe,
Is something personal and passionate for this scribe,
Those that choose the harder path,
Are the ones which have advanced; nearer the hearth.
There is nothing the outer world really can offer,
Other than to give you choice on which to hover.
We get all bogged down with what we find wrong,
Rather than just make a selection and sing the song.
The history that we have been taught is all a lie,
We have been conditioned by a false lullaby.
Our best teachers are the ones that drive us nuts,
Negative perspective puts our relationships in ruts.
The faults we find in another,
Are really ours we do discover.
We are not alone in the universe at all,
Really, life only on our own little ball!
Feeling alone, abandoned and separated,
All an illusion as angels are designated.
We are slaves to the machine of the one percent,
Forgetting we have the divine power of intent.
We imprison those that have had the hardest ride,
And allow the uncompassionate bankers a free slide.
As it stands the left hemisphere brain is respected,
And the poet, dancer, musicians secondary or rejected.
Material possessions celebrated as a form of achievement,
While not guiding our children inward for perceivement.
We evaluate, categorise and label each other with a value,
When we all came here with the same dream to pursue,

Which was that I would ♥ you and you would ♥ me too.

As above so below,
Look around I don’t think so.
Let’s make a mighty effort to change our dimension,
This is the tipping point for humanity, did I mention?
We are all needed more than at any time before,
To help the Angels create here on Gaia, Universal law.

Kinetic Sculptures

A psychedelic-free mind-blow! I would love to have this in my garden. Imagine how chilled you would be sitting in that garden for a while, gazing at the sculptures. How long before you’d switch off the internal dialogue and start ‘meditating’….. lost for words at the sheer beauty and talent that created this – Anthony Howe

A Tribute to a Star-Man – David Bowie

A Tribute to a StarMan David Bowie

Once in every lifetime, a special soul will fall to earth,
That thrives upon creation, and to convention gives wide berth.
While most of mankind capitulate and walk within a dream,
Silently suffocating their soul, whilst within themselves they scream.
Ziggy broke through the Veil, woven to entrap us in fear,
He saw through the brainwashing and picked it up a gear.

Every now and then a soul is born to show the way,
A soul that fears not judgment, which keeps the average soul at bay.
Elvis and David born on the same day in ’47,
Both stepped down to us; exalted gifts from heaven.
Eyes different from one another; two perspectives did he see,
His mind released from this prison, wild, controversial, free.
Rebel Rebel walked outside the lines, drawn for us to obey,
Bowie could not bear to watch his feet, turn to a deadened clay.

David was to push the boundaries of mundane convention,
He androgenised himself so much, and wore make up did I mention?
Metamorphosing like a sunrise; what a miracle to behold,
When most are fast asleep, and just do as they are told.
Changing from one conception to another at a whim
You had more ideas than a Dali; full right to the brim

Joining Heaven and Earth as Major Tom, yes we heard you oh so clear,
You were a dazzling Light of Love, and to us dreamers brought a tear.
You helped us break the chains of old that had been bound on us
By an establishment of conditioning grey, you didn’t ride their bus.

Now you are the Starman waiting in the sky, the one that blew our minds,
Did you come from Andromeda to awaken us to their crimes?
Honour him they tried with a knighthood, for his rebellion against their regime,
Told them what they could do with it, he did not sell out to his dream.

Ashes to Ashes, dust to dust, we say farewell now to our brother exquisite,
Here on earth all voices raised in appreciation, of your historic visit.
Where are you now? Lazarus, reincarnate, as your last song did say,
You are immortal to those that love you, our hero for more than one day.
